Granite is a coarse-grained (phaneritic) intrusive igneous rock composed mostly of quartz, alkali feldspar, and plagioclase. It forms from magma with a high content of silica and alkali metal oxides that slowly cools and solidifies underground.

It is used to make countertops, floor tiles, paving stone, curbing, stair treads, building veneer, and cemetery monuments. Granite is used all around us - especially in building the infrastructure of modern-day cities.

It is hard and durable enough to resist abrasion and bear significant weight. It is also considerably inert in nature and can be polished to achieve a brilliant finish. Hence, this stone is used for a variety of structural and decorative purposes.
